Staverton Bridge Nursery & Cake Windows

My latest favourite place for presents and tea & cake is Staverton Bridge Nursery. I love the hugeness of the greenhouses and the beautiful plants and the little cafe...very aesthetic with a simple lunch menu (get there early,it sells out) and tea & cakes. Today I had a delicious Chocolate and Almond cake, the tea of course is loose leaf and drunk from a china cup...which makes it taste like my Grandmas tea. I'm not one of those people who can drink tea or eat cake at any time of the day like some people I know....I have a very brief tea & cake window which opens around 3.30pm and shuts probably by 4.15pm and if I dont have it then the moment has passed and I really can't be tempted.

Every now and again I come across images/designs/pattern that make my heart skip and today it's these stunning contemporary Ikat designs by Lourdes Sanchez.....and some of her other designs too. You can see more of her work at www.lulisanchez.com . It seems that lately everytime I like the work of a maker or artist they live in Brooklyn......so I'm going to save for a trip there and go visit all these people I think.
