I made a gift of the floating Walnut candles to some friends who recently just had thier second child.
And below is some Birthday Blessing water..........for many years I loved reading about the Santeria religion which is a fusion of African Yoruba and Catholicism, when African people were bought to South America and enslaved they were no longer free to practice thier own religion so they very cleverly adopted the Catholic saints and continued to worship thier Orisha's (dieities if you like) through them, finding the saints that most closely matched thier own, and so was born the wonderful hybrid religion of Santeria. Botanicas are the shops where the practitioners can go to buy herbs and poitions and all manner of magical charms. My blessing waters are inspired by the Botanicas that are now found all over South and North America.
I made this House Blessing Water as a house warming gift for a friend and the paper bag made from old wallpaper to put it in. Wrapping gifts is just about my favourite thing ever, the more I can add to the wrapping the better, the problem is with such abundant wrapping the gift inside might actually be a disapointment.
